There will be plenty of time for me to beat him soundly once I’ve gotten what I came for.

Sent on a mission to retrieve an ancient hidden map—the key to a legendary treasure trove—seventeen-year-old pirate captain Alosa deliberately allows herself to be captured by her enemies, giving her the perfect opportunity to search their ship.

More than a match for the ruthless pirate crew, Alosa has only one thing standing between her and the map: her captor, the unexpectedly clever and unfairly attractive first mate, Riden. But not to worry, for Alosa has a few tricks up her sleeve, and no lone pirate can stop the Daughter of the Pirate King.

I really enjoyed this book. This is a great YA pirate/fantasy romance.
This story follows Alosa who is the daughter of the pirate king. She has been trained brutally all her life to carry out whatever her father needs of her. She is a feisty, stubborn, strong headed woman. She is trying to find a long lost map to a hidden treasure for her father. Her plan is to get intentionally kidnapped by a ship and try to infiltrate/find the other piece of the map. She runs into the captains brother and instantly sparks a connection with him.
Riden is the son of the previous captain. He's guilty about his father's death and is trying to help his brother man the ship.
This book was so much fun! I loved the atmosphere and the world of this story. I do wish there was a little more action towards the end of the book, but overall I really liked it! 4.5 stars rounded up to 5!
