Four young ladies enter London society with one common goal: they must use their feminine wit and wiles to find a husband. So a daring husband-hunting scheme is born.

Annabelle Peyton, determined to save her family from disaster, decides to use her beauty and wit to tempt a suitable nobleman into making an offer of marriage. But Annabelle’s most intriguing—and persistent—admirer, wealthy, powerful Simon Hunt, has made it clear that while he will introduce her to irresistible pleasure he will not offer marriage. Annabelle is determined to resist his unthinkable proposition…but it is impossible in the face of such skillful seduction.

Her friends, looking to help, conspire to entice a more suitable gentleman to offer for Annabelle, for only then will she be safe from Simon—and her own longings. But on one summer night, Annabelle succumbs to Simon’s passionate embrace and tempting kisses…and she discovers that love is the most dangerous game of all.

Lisa Kleypas is quickly becoming one of my new favorite authors! I loved this book.
In this story we follow Annabelle who is trying to find a husband by the end of the social season. Her family is in debt after her father passed away, and she is hanging on to her last thread of hope to get her family out of financial trouble.
One night when she is at one of the many social balls she finds herself sitting with three other women who are not getting any attention from the other men in the room. They all take a liking to each other and decide to help each other get husbands. But while Annabelle is trying to woo another suitor she is constantly thinking about the kiss that she shared with a gentleman named Simon three years ago.
Simon wasn't born into a wealthy position in society. Him and his family have worked very hard to get where they are now, but people still think of him as just the butcher's son. When he first meets Annabelle he is instantly infatuated with her.
Throughout the whole book they tip toe around each other. There is so much angst, passion, and love that both characters share for each other.
I really liked this book! I loved how Kleypas slowly builds up the angst in her books. I do think the ending dragged on a little longer than it needed to be, so that's why it is only four stars for me. But otherwise it was an amazing romance!
